" I strongly believe that I would be able to significantly contribute to the society’s well-being in the future through my spontaneous leadership role.
Nevertheless, there is always a room for improvement. Accordingly, It requires rigorous training for improving leadership capacity. And, of course the “Millennium Fellowship” program of the United Nations Academic Impact and MCN can be a fantastic opportunity in this regard. I am happy by applying for the program as I believe that I can become a true leader under the program, this training will assist not just me but also Bangladesh as a whole. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Environmental Club of BUP (EnCBUP)
Environmental Club of BUP (EnCBUP) is the very first club of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) which has been initiated with a view to spreading environmental awareness and accomplishing environmental sustainability. It is the arena of all the nature lovers & environmental enthusiasts of BUP who seek for a cleaner, greener & better environment. The planet Earth is a sanctuary for life. Our beautiful abode is progressively losing its greenery and glory because of our anthropogenic activities. Environmental pollution and climate change is making our earth inhabitable. To revive our earth and combat the climate crisis, multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder involvement is required. That is why the Environmental Club of BUP has been established with the mission of to protect and improve the environment of our community as well as of our country by promoting awareness of the current state of the environment. The motto of this club is “Caring for Nature, Saving the Future” which unfurls the core vision of this club.
About the Millennium Fellow
Tabassum Khanam Ratri is a careful, serious and well-motivated student of Development Studies who can keep her patience even under extreme pressure. She is excellent at managing workload and meeting deadlines. She is an exceptional student with the rare capacity to grasp crucial topics rapidly. She also participated in class debates spontaneously. I could sense her eagerness to learn at that early level, and I must say that she is humble enough to admit her limitations. Her communication skill is also commendable.
Apart from being a meritorious student, Ms. Ratri also possesses some excellent leadership attributes. She frequently participates in such extracurricular activities and contributes significantly to the department seminars, workshops, and national case contests are held on a regular basis at BUP . The most important point, however, is that she has been engaging herself with different kinds of voluntary activities related to anti tobacco campaigns, emergency responses, social work for child, trans and vulnerable communities since the onset of her university life, as I have observed. As a Development Studies student she believes in work for achieving SDG goals to lead towards a path of sustainable development.
