About the Millennium Fellow

Henry Kaggwa is a young medical doctor graduated from Busitema University. He defied all odds to be a pioneer doctor from rural Myanzi sub-county, Kassanda district. Dr. Kaggwa was born in Mityana, Central Uganda, and is the eldest of the 8 children. He is an innovator and early career researcher with publications in peer reviewed journals, served as the 3rd president of Busitema University Research and Innovation Association (BRA), and one of the founding members of BRA. He has been a leader since primary school. He is very passionate about health ever since his young brother nearly died of severe malaria 15 years ago. Dr. Kaggwa and his colleagues at Busitema University created a mobile app [NCD lense] which is freely accessible on Google play store and it's already creating impact in Non-Communicable Diseases. Henry and colleagues through social innovation are also tackling the problem of limited resources in low income countries like Uganda to positively impact lives through social transformation while fostering sustainable development.
