" Being inquisitive and intellectual, I would want to explore ways that have not been followed so far to spread awareness of sustainable development. I'm also excited to collaborate with people worldwide who are working towards similar goals. And us being a team can make this Fellowship program a successful endeavor. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Mission Penia

Poverty is such an issue that can only be reduced at the moment, and it would take decades to eradicate. So, if we start educating the upcoming generation on how poverty could be controlled, we could eliminate poverty soon. My project (Mission Penia" poverty in greek") is to crowdfund for this project through Corporate Social Responsibility funds. We will be requesting MNCs to donate their money for this project out of their unutilized corporate social responsibility funds. According to the data, many companies have unutilized CSR funds for years. As a team ( UN being a part) approaching the MNCs, we could give them assurance and confidence that the funds will be utilized properly and systematically. This project will be funding more than just education like to provide productive resources, credit, arranging proper medical facilities, etc., to reduce poverty. The companies will have three reasons to donate their funds; firstly, they could see the actual change in the society, visibly over time; secondly, out of competition between the companies in being socially responsible, more and more companies will donate, and lastly, this boosts their brand value and increases their goodwill. Once the funds are collected, it could be used in plenty of ways to reduce poverty. I have specifically chosen CSR funds because these are high in amount with the companies which have been unutilized and even they will be more than willing to donate for a social cause.
