" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because through this I will truly develop my skills for work and generate passion for helping other people in a sustainable manner. I believe this will be an amazing learning experience and attempting to do the best I can for my society at age 18 is quite thrilling! Millennium Fellowship provides me this direct opportunity to work and discover my passion for social work at a deeper level. This platform allows me to be the best version of myself. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sports for Change

Since 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly altered our way of life, particularly how we interact with one another. Young children who were denied the chance to take part in live classroom instruction have undergone the most significant changes in behaviour and personality. For young children, this pandemic-related adjustment change has done more harm than good. We found that children in some Montessori schools in Bangalore lacked efficient hand-eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills, and social interaction due to the lack of face-to-face interaction in online or remote learning. Additionally, a lot of kids had trouble effectively and efficiently communicating with their elders and peers because they were shy and underconfident.

Hence, we believe that implementing sports and engaging activities can solve the common social problems observed in our immediate environment. The project Sports for Change aims to provide welfare, equality, and knowledge through sports and physical activities. The project strives to implement and conduct sports workshops and various coordination games to promote equal and enhanced awareness building.
