" The privilege to work on my project 'Rahnuma' and see the course it takes along with the help of others who are equally, if not more driven, and to learn throughout the process is something that excites me the most. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Parity Project

The Parity Project was created with the primary goal of achieving gender equality in primary education.
We believe that gender inclusivity can only be ingrained at an early age, and education is the strongest tool in our possession to achieve a disparity and bias free world. Thus, the project aims to create gender-inclusive modules of education and work towards their spread in primary education in India.
Plan of Action: We aim to work in collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations (Bengaluru, India), that work in the education sector. With their assistance, we plan to contact teachers of primary schools in the urban sector, and assess their understanding of the existing gender gaps in the classroom. Post this, we work with the same teachers to create long-term, implementable modules to introduce gender equality as an idea in subjects taught at the primary level.

About the Millennium Fellow

Evan Jones is a final year student at Christ (Deemed to be University) and is pursuing his Bachelors in Arts in Economics Honours. Growing up in metropolitan cities all his life, Evan's project aims to address the various mental health issues that arise from a fast-paced life; he has seen firsthand how apathy towards the mind and empathy for the body can create social imbalances.
