" The Millennium Fellowship platform will be excellent for working with like-minded people to achieve socially impactful goals. As the world navigates pandemic-induced uncertainty, the obligation to do good is more essential than ever. The difficulty is to find a way to include the concept of positive social impact into initiatives that the younger generation plans, rather than only those that fall under the umbrella of "corporate social responsibility." And MCN gives our group a platform to embrace and collaborate with the essential leadership qualities and hone our enthusiasm for creating sustainable cities and societies. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Parity Project

The Parity Project was created with the primary goal of achieving gender equality in primary education.
We believe that gender inclusivity can only be ingrained at an early age, and education is the strongest tool in our possession to achieve a disparity and bias free world. Thus, the project aims to create gender-inclusive modules of education and work towards their spread in primary education in India.

About the Millennium Fellow

Shilpa Nair Rajendran is an undergraduate student pursuing BA in Economics (Honors) from Christ (Deemed to be University). Although a native of Kerala, she has had the opportunity to travel around various places all her life and meet people with different beliefs, cultures, and lifestyles. She believes this has indeed helped shape the person she has made out of herself today. She is someone who constantly questions what is told to her and what she observes; she believes that whatever one does should not merely be a bandwagon but because one believes in whatever they practice and preach. Being in positions of power and leadership motivates Shilpa to advocate for things she believes in and stand up against wrong; hence she enjoys being in such posts; engaging in meaningful and deep conversations about various relevant issues and topics is something she wants as such discussions help widen her horizons and knowledge about different subjects. Standing up for the voiceless and against the wrong she observes around her empowers her to become a better version of herself. She believes the Millennium Fellowship program is one such platform. She is eager to utilize this prestigious platform to make even the slightest impact she can and contribute to achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Goals.
