UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT JESSICA COLMENARES, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2022.
Florida International University | Florida, United States | Advancing SDG 11 & UNAI 9
" I am extremely passionate about humanity, and making the world a better place for all things living.
I have always had a penchant for helping people, seeing as my own support system is everything to me. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Reduce, Reuse & Repurpose
My project is designed around the organization of natural area clean-ups to demonstrate the longevity and pervasive nature of plastics in our ecosystems. After completion of these clean-ups, a small upcycling demonstration is provided for the participants to give them ideas about how to incorporate the upcycling of trash-bound items into their own lives and routines, effectively helping to reduce the accumulation of waste and pollutants in our landfills and natural areas.
