" I believe Transgender should be respected and valued as they are an imperative, courageous, and exclusive part of our community. Millennium Fellowship is a stepping stone for me to achieve my goal by working on two important SDGs; gender equality and decent work and economic growth opportunities for all. I am eagerly waiting to bring a change in a way that in near future every transgender can relish a valuable and respectable life. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowering The Silent Ones

The aim of this project is to empower the Transgender community in my area, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. My vision is to train transgenders in different skills like makeup and stitching, to make them able to earn for themselves through an appropriate source and live with dignity and have respect in society.
My target transgender community is those transgenders who are living with Guru Saba in Rawalpindi. I met this transgender community at the Transgender Protection Centre in Islamabad. In this project, Iam helping transgenders learn initially two major skills: Tailoring and Makeup by financially supporting them (i.e., paying their fee for the courses). I am also collaborating with the Vocational Training Institute, Rawalpindi, where we will be paying the fee of selected transgenders, and they will be able to do tailoring as well as a beautician course there. This training session will be continued for up to six months starting from January 2023.
