" I believe the exposure I'll get will be of immense benefit to me and my work, I'll meet other people with similar interests as mine and learn from them on how to better serve my community. I wouldn't want any woman to go through what my grandma went through as a result of her breast cancer. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Breast Cancer Advocacy

The project is about creating awareness about the early signs of Breast cancer most especially in rural areas with very limited access to information.

About the Millennium Fellow

Jafar Abdullahi is determined medical student at Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa state, Nigeria. I am very passionate about the general well-being of my community which led me to participate in community service often, after the death of my grandma as a result cancer and late detection of the disease. Last year my Mom was also diagnosed with the same ailment but luckily it was detected very early, the lump was removed in May this year and she's presently undergoing chemotherapy and she's very okay, now I intend to help other women within and outside my community to know about the early signs and symptoms of breast cancer and hopefully get free treatment for them through various foundations and charitable organizations.
