Federal University of Technology Akure | Akure, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 4 & UNAI 5
" My passion for social impact work is driven by problem solving, teamwork, and critical thinking. Also, having great people around who can think deeply and act to achieve a specific goal fuels my passion for social impact work. As a result, being a Millennium Fellow is an exciting opportunity to meet that network of people and help to improve my critical thinking and creativity skills in order to make meaningful impacts on education and student empowerment in any way possible. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Cliq2Access
Cliq2Access, an SDG 4 initiative, is a community-driven platform that seeks to empower the students in tertiary institutions in Nigeria through the provision of verified information on opportunities that help them in their career advancement, give them access to higher education, and tackle the level of unemployment in Nigeria.
Cliq2Access is an initiative that is focused on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for students in tertiary institutions.
Cliq2Access also gives room to reinforce students with life core skills that are relevant to their career path, that can develop their capacity, and that will make them marketable in the job market after graduation.
About the Millennium Fellow
Michael Agwulonu is a dynamic and vibrant young leader with a passion for harnessing quality thoughts for a better life and impact. He is currently studying Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Akure in Ondo State, Nigeria. He is an indigene of Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, but was born and resides in Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria.
Michael is strongly interested in leadership, marketing, entrepreneurship, advocacy, politics, engineering, education, volunteering, and humanitarian work. He wishes to inspire others and have an impact on the world through his interests and actions. This can be seen in his involvement in impact projects and successful participation in social programs where he trained, mentored, and engaged students in different development skills.
Due to the high cost of education and the high rate of unemployment in his country, and also driven by his passion for skills that matter to a person's personal and career growth, Michael has made it a mandate to create a community that seeks to impact society by tackling unemployment through programs that reinforce students with the skills that make them marketable in the job market after graduation. This is to contribute to the actualization of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
