Millennium Fellowship Project: The Growth Camp
The Growth Camp is a project led by Millennium Fellow Oluwafemi Ajibona. The Growth Camp enforces the core nature of quality education which is the development of the mind of the child. The project is geared at helping young students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions in Nigeria have skills which are essential to their mental and social growth as well as help them on the journey to personal development while schooling. From August to December 2022, the project Growing Up would host a minimum of 50 participants as a cohort in the monthly virtual events. The events would involve sessions on financial literacy, leadership and innovations, popular participation, growing beyond hatred and emotional crisis alongside standard assessments and review tests. The sessions will reach an estimated total of 250 young persons in Nigeria. The outlook is to provide physical meetings in the nearest future.
About the Millennium Fellow
Oluwafemi Ayomide Ajibona is a highly motivated and dilligent third year engineering student at the Federal University of Technology Akure. Oluwafemi developed his interest in seeing through that people have access to good education and growth opportunities while growing up as the last child of an elementary school teacher in Nigeria. He has actively advocated for quality education and opportunities for youths while serving in various leadership positions right from his secondary school days. Oluwafemi intends to go as far as possible to champion the development of the United Nations' Sustainable Goals and become a voice for African youths.
