" Being part of an ecosystem of ambitious, young change-makers who see the world, not for its flaws, but for its opportunities to make a difference - that is what excites me about the Millennium Fellowship. For me, this will be an opportunity to develop my social impact skills and combine them with my technical knowledge to bring about the changes I want to observe around me. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sustain U

Sustainability U is an online open-learning, open-collaboration platform that focuses on teaching and advancing the field of sustainability. Whether it is the overwhelming amount of technical information to sort through or the lack of well-designed open-source devices/projects, people are discouraged from taking part in this global initiative. That's where Sustainability U comes in.
Sustainability U is a non-profit that provides online users free modules that will educate them on various topics revolving around sustainability; topics may range from distinguishing recyclable plastics from non-recyclable plastics to the long-term macroeconomic effects of the SDGs. Another feature is the DIY/projects section. This part of the platform will provide various projects and challenges that people of varying skill levels can do. This project will be completely open source and very detailed to allow any individual to follow along. As users provide us with feedback about these projects, enhancements and improvements can be made to the instructions. In the future a Connect and Collaborate feature can be added where people can communicate together in the form of forums and suggest their own DIY projects for others to follow along.
