About the Millennium Fellow
Haaris Jilani is a research-focused student studying biomedical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Since high school, Haaris has been interested in dissecting the internal mechanisms of complex systems. Engineering was a natural discipline for him, and Haaris decided to combine his interest in medical sciences with his natural affinity for engineering to become a biomedical engineer. Haaris has worked on projects ranging from prosthetics to cancer treatment, but his primary interest lies in stem cell research. Haaris is a leader in his local Muslim community, and his hobbies include playing basketball, weightlifting, working on cars, and writing poetry.
