Harvard University | Massachusetts, United States | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 6
" As a Millennium Fellow, I am incredibly passionate about shifting narratives and upending power imbalances.
The See Her, Hear Her initiative serves to remove the veil before the term “Human Trafficking” and humanizes the voices of trafficked women by providing a platform to tell their stories in a unfiltered and safe virtual space. The manipulative tactic of human traffickers is isolating their victims and forcing them to endure a “social death”. Through this platform, I hope to counter this tactic and demonstrate the strength of the community that awaits them while simultaneously altering the public perception of the human behind the term.
I want to be a person that challenges social stigmas that permit this grave injustice to happen. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: See Her, Hear Her
The See Her, Hear Her initiative serves to remove the veil before the term “Human Trafficking” and humanizes the voices of trafficked women by providing a platform to tell their stories in a unfiltered and safe virtual space. We intend to provide posters, flyers, and more containing a QR code which links to a website and app where trafficked women can share their stories and report their situations. The website and application will also provide educational resources, help lines, receive donations, and suggested measures of safety for women in regards to trafficking. The manipulative tactic of human traffickers is isolating their victims and forcing them to endure a “social death”. Through this platform, we hope to counter this tactic and demonstrate the strength of the community that awaits them while simultaneously altering the public perception of the human behind the term.
