" Resilience and adaptivity is the key to achieving one's goal. Proving this is one of the results of being a Millennium Fellow, I was particularly excited to be a fellow because it challenged my critical thinking skills and it tested my ability to lead. I'm glad I could see that the skills were still intact with the execution of my project and the impactful relationship I had with my cohort members and some other Millennium Fellow. I'm glad to have advocated for the Maternal Mental Health of mothers since only few are actually going into that direction. I'll forever hold the project dear to my heart and I'm grateful for the platform MCN and UNAI created for me. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: MMH Awareness Series

The MMH AWARENESS series is a project with the primary purpose of effectively sensitizing the community (focusing on to-be mothers and new mothers) about Postpartum Depression, the symptoms, the adverse effects it, and the importance of being knowledgeable about PPD. The project went further to educate them on ways they can earlier detect a cause of it and how to prevent themselves and their new babies from such. Furthermore, the Team oversaw and coordinated the process of providing seasoned clinical psychologist as speakers to a reputable maternity health center in Oyo state, Nigeria - Adeoyo Maternity Centre. The team was tasked with the duty of coordinating activity, distributing resources, providing materials to educate the audience, and partnering for the progress of Project PPD. The project worked towards tackling this form of depression and its relation with mental health through the WhatsApp sensitization and the physical sensitization.
