I am super excited to be part of the Millennium Fellowship as I get to meet people from different fields and network with them, sharing ideas to work on a common goal. This will also boost my self-confidence, knowing I have made another step towards my career goals. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Young and Eco-Friendly

Young and Ecofriendly is a project that reaches out to nursery, primary, and secondary school children to teach about climate change and how they can mitigate against climate change in their little way. In the long run, the project aims to ensure climate education is adequately incorporated into the educational curriculum, especially in the formative years of studies.

About the Millennium Fellow

Salma Motunrayo Omotara, a student of Forestry at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She was born and raised in Nigeria. Growing up, Salma wanted a career in the medical field, but after writing all the necessary examinations, her result was not up to the cut-off of her chosen course of study. As a result of this, she was admitted into the university to study Forestry. She was not satisfied with this course as she knew little or nothing about what it entails, however, she went in and for the program. During her time of study, she has been exposed to a whole lot of things and has learnt a great deal on environmental sustainability and conservation which has fueled her to want to learn more and do more for the environment.
