Millennium Fellowship Project: Niramaya
Our idea of the project is based on preventing diseases/the spread of diseases among people. There are many diseases in our society(especially infectious ones), mainly because of a highly populated country. Our main aim is to create awareness among rural children. Other people who have less awareness can also be motivated by our work. What we can do is, form small groups of people and interact with society about health awareness if it is in offline mode. Or else, we can create some awareness videos if it is in online mode. The awareness could be simple precautions that can be done at home that we can take to prevent diseases. Also, some of the best hygiene methods available for everyone are to prevent the spread of diseases which have a high spreading nature. Some people might be unaware of the diagnostic methods and medications available. These areas can also be touched up. Women's sanitization is also important during their periods, pregnancy, etc. STDs are also more prevalent and very less discussed topic. So, awareness should be created in many schools about these issues. As our college is situated in an outskirts region, we wish to make direct classes and awarness programme. We are planning to reach out to atleast 50 students during each session. We will make content in a very easy, and understandable way so that it reaches a great mass of people. Also, it will be in the local language if the people are from rural or tribal areas. In this way, many people can be benefitted from our work.
