Millennium Fellowship Project: Beat Diabetes
Building a support community of people diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child. With over 100 buddies who mentor and support young t1D diabetic children and guide them in living a balanced and healthy life.
About the Millennium Fellow
Swarnakshi is an undergraduate student majoring in biotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. She has been a part of the type 1 diabetic community since age 12, and her journey with T1D inspired her passion for public health and advocating for children with type 1 diabetes. Through the Fellowship she aspires to contribute towards improving the lives of underprivileged children with type 1 diabetes. After graduating she plans to work in fields where she can help work towards a world where quality healthcare is affordable and accessible to all.
