" Helping and caring about people runs deep in my soul and Millennium Fellowship would provide me with a platform to help people in need . SDGs have elaborately covered the pressing issues which need immediate attention and this Fellowship under UNAP will help me contribute my bit . I wish to join United Nations and use the platform effectively to address the already existing issues and raise voice for the newly emerging concerns , for which a this Fellowship will provide me a good base and help to build conceptual and practical understanding about the issues as well. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Food for all
“Food for All” was born out of my personal life experiences. Growing up in an Indian household, I was taught that wasting food is a sin. However, when I moved to Delhi for my graduation and started living in a hostel, I was deeply unsettled by the large amount of food wasted every day. Initially, I would carry leftovers from my own plate and share them with people in need.
Through the Millennium Fellowship, I was able to scale this initiative into a structured system. Instead of discarding food, students were encouraged to keep leftover bread and rice separately in casseroles, which were later distributed to those in need. Implemented in a hostel of 300 girls, this system consistently fed around 11 people on a daily basis.
What makes me proud is that the initiative continued even after I left the hostel—proving that kindness, once sown, keeps flowing. “Food for All” remains a reminder that small actions, when organized collectively, can bring about sustainable impact.
