It would equip me with the necessary abilities needed for bringing a positive change in the socitey regarding the significance of mental health. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Parwaaz

Parwaaz started as a mental health outreach program during the onset of COVID-19 in the year 2020. Parwaaz is constituted on the idea of normalizing the idea of mental health in society. Mental health has always been a taboo topic in our society, it's always disregarded and swept under the rug. Parwaaz strives to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and promote that mental wellness plays a vital and important role in our life. Mental health has always been looked down upon and its significance has always been ignored, Parwaaz wants to create a positive change in the society by normalizing the talk about mental health. Its purpose is to promote, restore and maintain positive mental heath. It aims to act like a safe space for people especially students who are afraid of being labeled and judged due to their mental heath struggles and also educating others about not being ignorant and judgemental about mental heath issues and helping them understand the significance of mental heath. In India, their is a lack of awareness and sensitivity towards the issue of mental heath. This lack of awarness is having detrimental affects on our community. Thus, it is important to educate people about their false prejudices against mental heath issues and its importance in our daily lives.
