Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Noor
Project NOOR is an initiative taken toward community outreach by students from Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi. The Project serves as a platform for people to do their bit in tackling prolonged social issues such as inequality, as well as providing holistic education to children from the disadvantaged sections of society and rehabilitating women of the manual scavenging community.
To achieve our mandate, we are divided into three teams: the education team, the creative team and the research team. This division allows for the smooth functioning of the project as members can contribute to their utmost in their field of expertise.
Project NOOR has always been very flexible in its approach to achieving its goal. Even during the pandemic, the Project stood still despite all the consequential difficulties (of the aforementioned) it was faced with. The Project continued to ensure that its functioning was uninterrupted at all costs, and made certain that the target community continued to reap the benefits of its work.
Furthermore, the Project provides abundant opportunities for self-growth and awareness as learning is never a one-sided process. Hence, while imparting help and knowledge to people from disadvantaged communities, we also get ample opportunities to learn a plentiful from them, making our interactions more fruitful and worthwhile.
