" I am passionate about SDG 4: Quality Education. The youth spend most of their life in school (given the opportunity to attend basic formal education) where they get to develop intellectually and socially. However, they have different opportunities and experiences that influence the quality of their education and their outcomes. I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow as this opportunity will allow me to connect with Fellow young people working on different projects that aim to improve the quality of education and life in general. This experience will also equip me with knowledge and skills to be more impactful. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Lifting Angels

Lifting Angels is a collaborative project between brilliant like-minded people. It targets children and we aim to impact their lives by improving their literacy, technological skills, physical and mental health awareness and support, and clothing.

About the Millennium Fellow

Mercy Zawadi Miriti is bright, zealous, and has a yearning for knowledge. She was born and lives in Kenya, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology. Zawadi realized her passion for education after high school when she felt triggered by seeing school-going children out of school on school days. She believes that quality education will be achieved by optimizing the entire learning environment to enhance intellectual, mental, and psychosocial development and giving students equal opportunities.
