Millennium Fellowship Project: Green Kenya
My project is advancing towards creating a green Kenya. It contributes to the attainment of the Kenyan forest coverage goal of 10% forest cover within the Kenyan boarders. We work as team of 9 people. We have a tree nursery within Kisii University compound where we raise tree seedlings. We plant tree seeds on a potting bag. After transplanting into a potting bag we water them regularly until they are ripe for planting. The matured seedling we plant them in local primary schools around Kisii town. Alongside tree nursery management we also collect plastics waste bottles to make useful again by making aerial gardening, decorations and footstool.
