" "The Millennium Fellowship will coalesce skills and lessons gained from previous community engagements and create tangible community impact. This will leave a long lasting first step in the way of improving literacy amongst rural communities and hopefully create a model that can be replicated in more areas. " "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Read Loud Read Proud
Read loud read proud, an open access rural community library that provides literacy support to children within the community. The project starts out with 200 books secured through donations and partnerships. Community volunteers provide literacy education, teaching children how to read and guiding those that have attained a certain level of reading skills.
Every quarter, the library is to host read aloud events for the beneficiaries to show case their progress and host local authors.
