Millennium Fellowship Project: Healthy Infant
I am planning to prepare a "healthy infant" booklet which contains what a new mom
(and dad) from any background would need to know to take care of their baby for the first 12 months of life, examples of content can be given as age-appropriate nutrition, vaccination, motor and cognitive developmental stages, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome awareness and prevention. This information will be given as compact as possible with an adequate amount of intervals with interactive pages in which parents can check the boxes to follow their baby's development, for example. We are planning to distribute these booklets to primary health care facilities, which are the most accessible for most of the society, general paediatricians. For the next stage of the project, this booklet may be adapted to become accessible through a mobile app to make it even more accessible.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ata Alpay Canbaz is a passionate, hard-working 5th-year medical student at Koc University, Istanbul. He deeply cares about healthcare issues worldwide and believes that every human being deserves to be taken care of. He is still a work in progress and enjoys taking different paths along the way. He is also interested in animal rights and environmental issues.
