Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpowHer
EmpowHer" is a project established to support women to learn fashion designing and catering skills. The project is aimed at intermediary learners, That is, those who have basic knowledge of the skills but were unable to further due to lack of funds. "EmpowHer" is for intermediary learners because they already have enough interest and passion for the skill and the project will be more impactful for them. The beneficiaries will be made to train with an expert for a minimum of three months and a maximum of six months. Then they will be posted to a different facilitator to access their skills and they will be paid stipends to motivate them and make them earn enough to start their own business. This is to ensure we select the right people that are willing to use their skills in the long run. At the end of the program the beneficiaries will be awarded start up kits for them to start their own Enterprise. We also intend to come back six months later to certify the most successful candidates in their chosen field to ensure sustainability of the project.
