United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. Over 31,000 young leaders on 2,400+ campuses across 140+ nations applied to join the Class of 2022.  200+ campuses worldwide (just 8%) were selected to host the 3,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Pick the plastic project

The project is tagged 'PICK THE PLASTIC PROJECT'. The project is brought up to sensitize students about proper waste disposal and waste separation of recyclables and non-recyclables in the internal and external environment of Nigerian campuses.

It is a project to partner with Green janitors sustainable initiative, an organization that is concerned with building sustainability-conscious individuals and also enhancing a circular economy by learning how to reduce and reuse recyclables.

It's a project targeted towards bringing pollution to its barest minimum and creating an habitable space for all.8

About the Millennium Fellow

Zainab Motunrayo Uthman is a promising 400L student of Chemistry at the prestigious Lagos State University. She's a tenacious person with a mind for the act of service, no doubt she took up a lot of volunteering with teens and sustaining the environment by being a member of the Campus Recycling Champions. Her interest in social action brought about her application for the Millennium Campus Fellowship class of 2022 which led to her spearheading as a project director of the Code Red Project; a project which provided sensitisation and sanitary pads to over 500 secondary school girls in the Ojo community.
She's a goal-getter, astute personnel and an outstanding leader. With the fire started in her by the MCN, she desires to continue the CRP as an initiative in the future. She aspires to go into the human resources career after her first degree.
