" Empathy and counselling skill, fuelled by a larger platform to reach more young ones, is a great tool in lending my voice and standing against RAPE in my community. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will enhance these skills. The skills I gain from Millennium Fellowship will make my social impacts on rape and sexual abuse more tangible and aligned with UNAI principles and SDGs. I am excited to increase my competence. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Education: A Tool to Alleviating Poverty

Education; is a tool to alleviating poverty.
“Education is a powerful driver of development and one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty, improving health, gender equality, peace, and stability.”
Our project was based on UNAI Goals 1 and 3, which are: addressing poverty through education, and Education for All, ensuring educational opportunities for all regardless of gender, race, religion/ ethnicity.
After deliberating on this, we came up with a project title that will address both goals at the same time during the project we spoke extensively on the project Title, enlighten the students on SDGs, and career choices after secondary school and had a quiz session where all participants were given a certificate.

About the Millennium Fellow

BUKOLA AYOOLA is a young undergraduate, who is passionate about business and entrepreneurial skills. Being a rape victim herself, she is passionate about seeing rape victims live above the stigma and strive for excellence. She does this by sensitising every young one around her about RAPE and also sees that she lends her voice against Rape and other sexual molestation. She hopes to be able to reach a lot of other young ones and help rape victims heal from their trauma subsequently.
