Millennium Fellowship Project: Education: A Tool to Alleviating Poverty
Education; is a tool to alleviating poverty.
“Education is a powerful driver of development and one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty, improving health, gender equality, peace, and stability.”
Our project was based on UNAI Goals 1 and 3, which are: addressing poverty through education, and Education for All, ensuring educational opportunities for all regardless of gender, race, religion/ ethnicity.
After deliberating on this, we came up with a project title that will address both goals at the same time during the project we spoke extensively on the project Title, enlighten the students on SDGs, and career choices after secondary school and had a quiz session where all participants were given a certificate.
About the Millennium Fellow
Victor Olufemi is a nursing student in his 3rd year at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. He was born in Ilesa, Osun State where he resides with his family. Victor Olufemi is an SDGs advocate who's very passionate about social impact; he's also very interested in the field of finance. Victor pioneered the establishment of a mental health organization (Asido Campus Network) In his school to help students with various mental health challenges. He also co-lead a project which was aimed at ridding the biggest market in his school environment of wastes. He sees movies and reads books in his leisure time.
