" * Leadership and influence
To inspire and influence others, a leader must have many skills and abilities. As I know being kind does not mean your weak, but bold, but not bully; being thoughtful, but not lazy; humble, but not timid; proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly that’s what I see myself as a leader Moving an entire group of individuals toward a singular goal is a considerable undertaking. Without effective communication skills and a clear vision of what needs to be accomplished, one will feel like they are trying to herd cats rather than leading. Effective communication encompasses many concepts.
The team must be able to believe in the message presented. If there has been a pattern of initial enthusiasm for projects, yet no follow through by the one presenting the latest and greatest, there will be little interest in the any project they propose. Once a leader lacks integrity, they will not garner the support needed to reach success. No one wants to follow those they cannot believe in, nor trust. Team members who feel confident in their leader’s abilities and knowledge are more likely to trust those in leadership positions and actively work to reach the set goals . For a leader to promote a trusting relationship, they must give credit when due to others and take responsibility for any failures.
Good examples of persuasiveness and influencing others in the workplace include: getting people to accept change, getting a project approved, making a difficult sale, getting an idea or recommendation accepted, changing an individual's behavior or actions, convincing someone to see things your way, reaching agreement that’s what I am.
