" By coming together and being motivated towards a shared purpose, I believe individuals have the power to achieve great things. This can only be made possible with leaders who can impart their vision and guide the way. I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow as I believe it will provide me with the crucial leadership skills required to bring our project to fruition and make a positive impact on the lives of many. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Book Lending Cell

The cost of purchasing college textbooks can be overwhelming for students. While libraries provide a solution, students are often limited in their ability to highlight or make notes in library books, and the loan period is typically short. To address this issue, I am starting an initiative to connect students who have completed a class or semester with those who are currently enrolled and in need of their textbooks.

The platform I am creating will allow senior students to donate their books to junior students, helping to reduce the financial burden of purchasing new books. With the shift towards online classes, many students are relying solely on class notes, which can be challenging to read on a computer screen for extended periods of time. Physical textbooks are easier to read, search, and navigate, making them a more efficient and comfortable study resource. I personally have experienced eye strain and fatigue from prolonged computer reading, and I believe that this project will provide a solution for students facing similar challenges.
