" Environmentalism and creating a lasting and positive impact on the community around me are what inspire me as a Millennium Fellow. I believe that by focusing on creating environmentally friendly infrastructure now, we can help curb climate change for the future. I strongly believe that environmentalism can be incorportated into any project no matter the field, and I hope to bring that belief to the project I work on with my Millennium Fellowship partners. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Transportation Transformation

This project aims to make sustainable transportation cheaper and more accessible to students and people within Boston. Around Northeastern, there is a significant lack of bike lanes that makes it difficult to commute to campus via bicycle. This problem is especially apparent on Huntington Avenue, making it dangerous to bike on. Additionally, using the T everyday can get expensive in the long run as it costs over $2 every use. Our solution would be to have the school subsidize T cards and Blue Bike memberships so that students wouldn't have to worry about transportation costs to get to campus. Other schools in the nation do this, so why shouldn't Northeastern!
