Millennium Fellowship Project: Sagyan
Project Sachet is a project led by the undergraduate s of BALLB. In project Sachet we made a paln to conduct legal literacy program in a secondary level school, Bhakti International Academy located in Hattigauda Kathmandu. Being a law student we mainly focused on providing education on basic aspects of fundamental rights and their basic human rights which are required in every single step of life. Being in the same phase before i can assure that the children of 12-16 ages do not have known about their basic rights. By this project we planned to conduct an awareness among the students of Bhakti International Academy by teaching them about the laws, their rights and most importantly we will be discussing about the issue of harassment, child sexual abuse, and domestic violence. By making them aware we will also be dealing with the helpline number that can be used by the potential victim or children during any of their problem.
Thus, we plan to be a bridge between justice and potential victim. We have planned this project with a long-term view of improving legal education since small age so they can properly know about their rights and other legal proceedings. To conduct this project we even have prepared plan to coordinate with child rights organisations, helpline providers, human rights advocates and youth. We have already started policy research, fund raising programs, calling for volunteers, in order to meet our expenses for the project.
