" A zeal to see a change around me motivates me to carry out the work that I do. I have a lot of ideas in my mind which I hope to execute but always lacked in finding the right people to do it with. By being a part of the cohort of Millennium Fellows, I know this gap will be fulfilled. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Red Knot

Red Knot is an initiative undertaken by Millennium Fellows of NMIMS. The campus project aims to address the stigma that is attached to the topic of menstruation; the geographical focus will encompass both urban and rural settings.
The campus project hopes to account for menstrual inequality and sustainability. Although the urban setting has access to menstrual products, the environmental impact of the plastic disposal is alarming. On the other hand, the rural population is still struggling to get continued access to menstrual products due to financial restraints.

During the Millennium Fellowship period (August- December 2022), our cohort will host a minimum of 3 offline activities which will include - one university level informatory session on menstrual sustainability, one active social media campaign, a student led monthly journal and an interactive thought board. The project hopes to impact the lives of at least 100 people.
