" I see this opportunity as a way to contribute to the society and build my leadership qualities at the same time. Empathy towards the tribal people motivates me to work for their emancipation. I look forward to a great experience and global interaction with
like minded people in this journey. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Samman: Our Body Our Right

My project primarily focuses on the sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) of the tribal women residing in the state of Jharkhand, India.Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) is an essential building block to achieving gender equality, but it’s restricted globally. Access to full, comprehensive health care that includes sexual and reproductive health can change the course of a person’s life and set them up to reach their full potential. Under the aegis of this project I plan to launch initiatives such as comprehensive sexuality education, access to a range of modern contraceptives, visiting the tribal inhibited villages in the state of Jharkhand and distributing sanitary pads. This project will also include interaction with the tribal women which will help in understanding their situation and problems they face regarding sexual and reproductive health which will further help in developing policies for the betterment of the tribal women in the domain of SRHR. I also plan to include mass media campaigns promoting STI reduction, stopping gender-based violence, and ending harmful practices such as child marriage and female genital mutilation.
