Millennium Fellowship Project: Protect NYC

Creating an initiative based in New York City in response to the growing trend of violence that has destabilized the sense of security for the everyday person leading their life. There would be a priority for assisting the communities most vulnerable to hate-crimes by providing resources that can alleviate the stress of commuting either financially or in self-defense instruction. I plan to look for partner non-profit organizations to boost or support that tackle similar missions.

About the Millennium Fellow

Emily Ye is a junior Global Liberal Studies student at New York University. As a native New Yorker, she always enjoyed the exposure to vibrant cultures and rich backgrounds the city had to offer. From highschool, she has been involved in bringing matters of diversity, equity and inclusion to the forefront of her school community. Today she is a volunteer in non-profit organizations and takes to the streets to actively endorse progressive politicans with the potential to push forward urgent legislation. She aspires to impart a sense of impact in some of the most pressing issues regarding the lives of the everyday person.
