Millennium Fellowship Project: Mental Health and You

The project aims to enlighten and sensitize students of Osun State University and secondary schools in Osogbo, Nigeria, on mental health and how they can take proper care of it.

The project focuses on educating students on the causes, symptoms and prevention of different forms of mental illnesses and how people can seek help from from loved ones and professional therapists to successfully manage mental illness.

The project also helps to demystify myths surrounding mental illness and discourage stigmatization and discrimination against people with mental illness.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ariyibi juanita funmilayo,a passionate happy and goal oriented undergraduate female student of the department of public health, osun state university osogbo Nigeria,who resides in portharcourt Rivers State with her parents,an indegiene of osun state and a citizen of Nigeria.
Right from a very young age, juanita has been so passionate about health related issues and has been referred to as a nurse by both family and friends. Her passion for quality health and love for people moved her to study public health rather than nursing inorder to have more access to touch more lives by helping and improving the lives of those who due to lack of knowledge, exposure and socioeconomic factors has limit to good health through awareness,advocacy, touching the lives of those especially in rural areas with little or no access to good health care services, most especially bringing smile to their faces. This passion has also moved her to join the Millennium Fellowship in helping and promoting the united nations SDGs.
