Millennium Fellowship Project: Queerious

Queerious is a project that is aimed at increasing awareness, reducing inequalities and discrimination, and promoting assimilation and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals. Starting with our local community, we aim to bring forth awareness to the people in our city, state, country and the world. The term queerious is a combination of two words, queer and curious, and this is what this project aims to do- we aim to clarify the curiosity in people's minds about the queer community. We believe that the main reason for homophobia and discrimination is because of the lack of knowledge among people, and this can be curbed by providing information that is authentic and personal. We planned to go about this project by interviewing people from our locality who belonged to the LGBTQ+ community. We would then use their insights to create informative and engaging social media posts and videos for people to see. This would help develop a personal view in people's minds about the experiences and struggles that queer people face, which would help promote awareness and reach.
