Millennium Fellowship Project: Effective Altruism @ UC Chile
Effective Altruism @ UC Chile is a student group focused on helping students increase their social impact by giving them tools, frameworks, and support in pursuing highly effective careers or projects. We network with local and international NGOs, work with professors and researchers to create new projects, and run workshops and discussion groups on social impact.
About the Millennium Fellow
Agustín Covarrubias is a leader, activist, and community builder currently studying engineering at UC Chile. Having started programming at 11, becoming an organizer of March for Science Chile at 15 and started working for the Chilean Senate at 19, Agustín has worked in fields as varied as public policy, government transparency, cybersecurity, climate change activism, and education. As a talented generalist, Agustín has focused on empowering others to create social impact through a combination of technology, transdisciplinary research and evidence-based approaches to altruism. By combining his experiences across domains, Agustín aspires to build tools and frameworks that can maximize the impact of civil society at an international scale.
