" Creativity, empathy and leadership drive me to improve as a person and to achieve good teamwork. Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will help me to improve these skills. The skills I gain from the Millennium Fellowship will have a social impact on schools while meeting the principles of the UNAI and the SDGs. I am excited to meet these goals and to learn from the teachers and Fellow students I will meet. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Generación Verde

The project consists of reinforcing and promoting environmental education at our university by teaching students how to correctly segregate waste. They are also taught that there are other recycling methods such as eco bricks. As a long term project we want to propose that the university implement areas or garbage containers where students can recycle. In addition, to promote the construction of recreational areas using eco bricks within the campus.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ashley Angela Ruiz is an assertive and empathetic management student. She was born in Peru, lives in Lima, and studies at PUCP. From what she remembers, Ashley has been passionate about fighting for the respect of living beings and the earth for a just coexistence, as well as the fulfilment of the rights of the most excluded communities such as women, members of the LGTBIQ+ community, indigenous communities and immigrants. This impulse and vocation was shown in Ashley's participation in social action programmes during high school and early university.
