" "I want to make a difference in a positive manner. Millennium Fellowship will not only guide me in exploring my methods of working but open a world of understanding and experience to me also. There are a lot of good intended people just sitting around without the awareness on how to help - themselves and others. I intend to change that." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: TABOO - Talking About the Basics Out and Open

Project TABOO centres around making school children equipped with recognising abuse, tackling self-harm with alternative means of expressing aggression, and reaching out to the correct people for help. It will also sensitise teachers so as to be able to guide children that reach out.
Since many myths surround ordinary citizens regarding mental health professionals and their work, TABOO will also try to assess whether there must be an exception in the India for contracts between mental health professionals and children so that children can approach the respective professionals and get help even without their parents' consent.
