" The Millennium Fellowship will provide me with a platform that can give wings to my idea and this noble cause. After being a Millennium Fellow, it would be easier for me to collect data, visit the rehabilitation centres and interview people. It would be easier for me to get permission from the authorities by being a Millennium Fellow. This Fellowship can give recognition to the policy that will be drafted after the data collection and quantification. So, it can be easier for me to approach the authorities to adopt the drafted policy in the existing system. I can approach the administration and the legislature for its implementation. This Fellowship will provide a network of people who are working for the same cause. It will help to expand my network and connect to people with the same mindset across the globe. This will provide me with a better platform and connectivity to work further in this field. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project RAKSHA

Our project named RAKSHA deals with the proper rehabilitation of the victims of sexual offences. We aim to make a policy draft after collecting empirical data as well as doing research. The policy draft would be sent to the Government of India to tighten the loopholes in the existing rehabilitation system. The ultimate object of the project is adoption of the policy draft by the government to strengthen the existing system of rehabilitation. So, the parameter for successful completion of the project is adoption of the policy by the government. Under this project we eill be covering the SDG no. 16 ehich is about Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Through our project we aim to emphasise the need for proper institutions f rehabilitation of sexual offfenders so that proper justice can be done to them, not only physically or financially but mentally and emotionally as well.
