" "Its better to be a change rather than exclaiming for a change. Empathy, practicality and ground realities are necessary to be realized for human fulfillment . I am aiming for a postive change in me for reflecting the same in the society around me. I am excited to uplift my interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and reach to stage where I am happy about the person I become ." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: R.E.A.D.: Redefining Education Amidst Diversity
This project will primarily be responsible for working in 4 spheres and creating Awareness about:
1. Menstrual Hygiene;
2. Governement Schemes;
3. Financial Literacy;
4. Digital Literacy.
5. Gender Diversity.
I will be leading the projet with my focus being on SDG 3 and SDG 4.
This project will have 2 phases to fulfill the first objective:
1. University Premises:
All the low-income earning staff of the University was approached with a sample of sanitary napkins to know their current mentrual practices, educate them of the
consequences of poor menstrual hygiene and make them aware of the existing
scheme. This feedback is yet to be taken of the product offered by the government, the existing problems and taboos that are still there. Alongside this, we attempted to educate them of all the three areas as well.
2. Each one, teach two:
All the professors of the University will be approached and especially the female
professors will be requested to talk to 2 of the domestic helps in their house and tell
them about the scheme, consequences of poor menstrual hygiene and record their
reponse objectively in the google form that shall be circulated to them.
Further, school authorities were contacted and provided with a 2-page basic
guidelines on menstruation, menstrual product and scheme of the governemnt.
The responses were recorded to know the existing state of affairs with regard to
menstruation in India. Stories, posters and videos were used to diseminate the information on all the 4 spheres of the project.
