" "My social initiative is one where I'm personally motivated and that makes me work tirelessly for it. Being a Millennium Fellow will increase my chances to work with the forerunners of the society and achieve our common goals. The experience that I hope to gain from the program is certainly going to propel my vision and prepare me for the future. " "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Let's Talk WoMen

I'm a person who believes change starts from home and what is a better way than to
spread proper awareness about problems faced by women than through pointing out
the small discriminatory acts against us by the men in the family? In a country like
India, it is no wonder that women are still considered a step lower than men and this
project aims at changing that from the root level. The plan of action of the project is
first to note down these points of casual misogyny, conduct meetings about this and
do apt research to put across while dealing with the men of the family or community.
Speaking up is the best way to stand up for your rights and having scientific backing
for it, can help people in reevaluating their actions. The second stage of this would be
to conduct talks and seminars for the men around us, committed to making the world
a better place for women. The whole campaign may not be on a large level but these
small progresses can be stepping stones for something greater for the good of all
women kind and that is the motivation for the campaign.
