Millennium Fellowship Project: Healthcare Hesitancy in the Haitian Community
The project will focus on educating the Haitian community to seek preventative care. I noticed many Haitians wait till they are very ill to seek medical care. I want to encourage them to visit their doctors more frequently.
About the Millennium Fellow
Andersen Herman is a sophomore studying Biomedical Sciences at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD, USA. He believes each individual can make a difference in their community whether big or small. Andersen plans to go into medical school after completing his bachelor's degree. His project with the United Nations will focus on educating Haitians in the Eastern Shore area to seek medical care sooner rather than later.
