Millennium Fellowship Project: Cultural Diversity through Cinema (CDC)

Our project aims at fostering cultural diversity and fighting against discriminations through education to cinema, in and outside my campus. In our campus, we promote the diversity of all our cultures by enriching students in learning more about the history, art and cultures of several countries. This is done through several screenings on site. Outside our campus, we manage several workshops related to cinema with children and young adults, sometimes even disabled people. It is done through workshops in associations and schools. We principally make stop motion animated movies. We create the storyboard, write the scenario, shoot it and do the music in partnership with Le conservatoire du Havre. Finally, we'll try to project the movies in a cinema afterwards. The overall most important goal is to ensure a good diverse and intercultural dialogue throughout our campus while reducing inequalities related to culture outside of my campus, allowing people that do not have access to culture easily to benefit from it.

About the Millennium Fellow

Hello everyone! My is Victor Ferré and I am a second year student majoring in Political Humanities at the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). Being passionate about history and cinema, I am eager to promote cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue in his campus of Le Havre. Throughout my highschool in France, I saw how culture is a key social factor to foster education and fight against discriminations. In this view, I recently worked in a cultural center in my hometown of France, Toulouse and created an association promoting history. I now plan to extend my actions following United Nations sustainable goals.
