I have lots of readons to be excited, the very first, being part of this team is an opportunity to reach out to peole, to interact with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds around the world, to appreciate and learn from them and above all, to share my sentiments with the rest of the world. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Haki ya Hakika
Having come from the eastlands part of Nairobi (place known for crimes and violence). The police and the general public have had a tendancy to peofile our youth just by their looks, this has caused a lot of extra judicial killings. Therefore my project starts from the grass roots, mobilising the youth and letting know their rights. It would also involve police officers who come to the ground and talk to the youth about crime naf drugs.
About the Millennium Fellow
Mushieni Eugine Indakwa was born on 13th April 2001 in a small village in the Western partbof Kenya. Like any other village boy, Eugine enjoyed life as it was, despite the humble background, he never saw obstacles, he saw opportunities. In fact, Eugine did not kno poverty existed, for him, life in the village was the best until he moved out, that is when he realised he was raised poor. At an early age, he joined a public primary school, Ebubala primary school, being a sharp student like he is, he used to emerhe the best all time. His hard work earned him a post primary school scholarship, from western Kenya, the village boy was invited to one of the most preffered National schools in Central Kenya where he studied and passed as well. He graduated in the year 2019 and passes well. Again this was just the beginning, from his background and probanly his whole village, no one or just a few had studied until the university level. My family as well could not afford to pay school fees. God came through for him and he got a scholarship to persue law at Strathmore university in Nairobi, Kenya's capital. He is currently a third year student in the school of law. Apart from academics, Eugine has been a member of various clubs including Strathmore mental health club and Stratthmore community outreach program.
