Millennium Fellowship Project: We Cycle Project
Besides textile management, our main goal is to start conversations around fast fashion. Fast fashion is a term used to describe the clothing industry's business model of replicating recent catwalk trends and high-fashion designs, mass-producing them at a low cost, and bringing them to retail stores quickly, while demand is at its highest. We want to get as much people as possible involved in learning about what fast fashion is and sensitize them on how to stop fast fashion. We also plan to have events that address the same issue.
Sustainable fashion is an important topic, and we intend to continue to target the university’s population in spreading this knowledge and spreading curiosity among people in the university.
About the Millennium Fellow
Imraan Swaleh Shariff is a young man who is greatly interested by people and the betterment of their condition. He is someone who has interacted with people widely at almost every level. Imraan currently studies Law at Strathmore University and has the goal of continuing to impact the world in every way starting with his circle of influence. He loves knowledge and is of the opinion that he revolves around it just as much as it revolves around him. He also has taken the interest in learning multiple languages to increase the variety of people he can interact with, and so far it is going well for him. He is aware that he has the capacity to do lots of things and is ready to embrace the challenge. He has a unique mind and enjoys learning, and the Millennium Fellowship is another opportunity that can afford him a worthwhile experience. He can't wait to get started!
