Millennium Fellowship Project: Lchekuti

I come from a cultural , marginalized and patriarchal Samburu community .My project targets Lchekuti. Lchekuti is a local name in Samburu community ,used to refer to a group of young boys , girls and adults who spend their day doing culturally allocated duties such as herding for the men and building houses for the ladies .This group of persons have never had access to any kind of basic formal education .My project focuses on this group , after their done with their duties , we put them in classes and teach them on gender equality, importance of education, dangers of harmful cultural practices such as FGM, reproductive health , hygiene and sanitation and little bit of farming.
