" At times all that we need is a platform to share our ideas and impact the community and the Millennium Fellowship Program is exactly that for me! I am thrilled to have been chosen to be part of the Class of 2022 and I am ready to actualize the SDGs in my community! I am ready to network with a global network of youth change-makers as we inspire and motivate each other to maximum societal transformation. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Edunique: Go Green Program
SDG Students Club Program a brainchild of the Edunique Go Green Program, which seeks to create SDG Clubs in Secondary schools that will work to educate the younger generation about sustainability and provide an avenue for community action.
This program is inspired by the fact that a lot of emphasis on sustainability has been placed on businesses – both product and service providers and it is quite clear that schools in Kenya have been left behind in this sustainability movement. Again, see in Kenya, people still graduate from university without any single idea about what sustainability is and how to foster it. And that’s what informs the establishment of the Go Green program.
Objectives of this program are broadly grouped into 3:
1. Championing for and creating awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the public.
2. Fostering a sustainability-oriented innovation culture among Kenya’s young generation.
3. Transforming Kenyan education institutions into being sustainable institutions.
